A blurb in this month's Technology review announces that Du Pont has
developed a textile that conducts electricity. A Kevlar core is covered
with a layer of silver or nickel, then a second polymer for washability.
TR envisions this as a medium for wearable electronic devices such as
embedded heart monitors, body temperature sensors, and personal GPS. I
guess I think differently -- I see at most a year before somebody markets
the first body armor that defeats tasers.

Oscar night!...Nothing is more annoying -- yet unintentionally hilarious -- than watching the most self-obsessed people on earth lecture the rest of us about issues they feel we don't care enough about.
